I’ve recently gotten more involved with online security – by creating a Chrome extension, Cygen – and as a result, I’ve decided to look at the password guidelines of 3 of the major Canadian banks. The importance of having secure online banking access is paramount, and the results of my little analysis is quite disappointing.

What is a password? It’s a thing you type in to gain access to an account. What if all you need to do is remember one (secure) password and have your browser generate secure, unique passwords for different sites?
